Sellers General Construction did a walkway, a deck, and later, a major addition to our Litchfield Beach home. We enjoyed working with Johnny and Jay Sellers and their entire organization. Please accept this letter as my most sincere recommendation for Jay Sellers of Sellers Construction in conjunction with his application to obtain a NC General Contractor’s license. I have known Mr. Sellers (Jay) professionally for many years and have always been impressed with his ambition, knowledge, and commitment to the construction industry. He is a reliable, self-starter who will take the lead, make decisions, and maintain responsibility for his actions.
Jay was recently awarded the contract to rebuild our 28,000 ft. office/warehouse space after it was destroyed by a fire in early 2019. He successfully completed the project within all guidelines included in his original estimate. He effectively managed every aspect of the build and communicated his proposed schedule on a weekly basis. Outstanding Renovations
Sellers General Construction has remodeled several commercial buildings for me over the last few years. Most recently a 7500 SF building in Conway, SC located at 1315 Fourth Avenue. The renovations included new plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, roof/metal facia repairs, and adding an additional parking lot. This work was completed in May 2019. Jay Sellers did a great job on the remodel. The building even won a “Quattlebaum Award” from the City of Conway due to the outstanding renovations of a commercial building. The job was completed on time and Jay was in constant communication throughout the process. I recommend Jay on a regular basis to other property owners looking to build new or remodel. Jay has a great deal of knowledge about construction and made multiple great recommendations through the process.
Sellers General Construction is currently renovating another building for me in Conway, SC located at 911A&B Norman Alley. This building is approximately 4800 SF and will be subdivided into 4 individual units. Renovations include extensive demo and new plumbing, electrical, HVAC, replacing a portion of the roof, framing of firewalls for individual units, new storefronts on all four units. Jay has been great to work with on this project as well. He is in constant communication and making good recommendations on changes or possible additions to the building.

Unquestioned Integrity
As a representative for the City of North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Department, I have had multiple opportunities to work with Jay Sellers of Sellers General Construction. Jay has led the effort on projects including beach dune walkover structures ( 10-12 of those), a 670-foot long footbridge through a swamp, a 2000 foot storage building and workshop, and currently, an 8000 square foot maintenance facility for our Public Grounds division. Jay and Sellers have also completed many other projects for the City for other divisions other than the one for which I am responsible.
With regard to Jay’s character, he is a man of unquestioned integrity and my experience has been nothing but positive. City procurement ordinances are very stringent and, for accountability purposes, up-front prices must be obtained and adhered to. Jay is accurate in his projections, he plans his work, and, as much as he can control the circumstances, he carries out that plan. When changes are necessary he recognizes the need early on, is proactive, and is straightforward and honest with whatever communication required. He does what he says he will do and he ensures that the staff of Sellers GC does the same. Primarily for that reason, the City has a strong relationship with Jay and Sellers GC and I am excited and a little relieved when I know they have provided the winning bid for any of my projects. The selfish side of me knows I won’t have to chase them or watch them like a hawk to ensure the desired outcome. When they leave a project it is done right. Every time.
